Many organisations offer tailored funding for specific events and opportunities.

We subscribe to the Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding, which lists grants, trusts and charities that could help fund travel to a conference or other part of your research.

Your department may also offer funding opportunities or advise you on sources of funding for your area of interest.

YGRS Conference Fund

Self-funded PGRs can apply for funding to attend UK and international conferences when other funding options have been exhausted.

The YGRS Conference Fund has three deadlines throughout the year.

Please note that if you have already been awarded YGRS conference funding, you cannot re-apply to another round.

Deadlines for 2026/27 applications are:

1 September 2026
29 January 2027
31 May 2027

Applications should be submitted no later than midnight on these dates.

Apply for funding by completing the form below and gaining your supervisor's approval. Supervisors should send the completed form to YGRS@york.ac.uk
