Funding is an important aspect of any researcher's life, and as a research student you can apply for funding for a range of opportunities.
If you find yourself in financial difficulties, take a look at assistance funding available for students.
Covid-19 PhD Scholarship Fund (CPSF)
See details of the new Covid-19 PhD Scholarship Fund (CPSF) - a package of support for PhD researchers receiving their stipend via York, and for UK self-funded PhD researchers, who have been most impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our academic departments offer some subject-specific funding opportunities. They also provide advice on where you may be able to source funding for your area of interest.
Many organisations also offer tailored funding for specific events and opportunities. The University subscribes to the Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding, which lists grants, trusts and charities that could help fund travel to a conference or other part of your research.
YGRS Conference Fund
Self-funded PhD students can apply for funding to attend research training events when other funding options have been exhausted.
The closing date for the next round of funding is midnight on 1 May 2021.
Funding should be applied for by completing the form below and sending to email@example.com. Please note that this should be sent by the student's supervisor on behalf of the student.
