From 2 February 2026, the process for requesting a "Change of Plan" (such as a Leave of Absence, changing from full-time to part-time, transferring your programme, or requesting a programme extension) is changing.
This year, York SU are working more closely with YGRS than ever to make sure your voice is heard and they can represent you as effectively as possible - find out more about their latest activities below.
"Having the freedom to shape your own project and take it in directions driven by curiosity is incredibly rewarding... I’ve learnt that those moments [where things go wrong] are often where you learn the most; troubleshooting and adapting are just as important as getting results."
The EDI Research Centre is looking to recruit two PGR Research Assistants to work on a new ESRC Impact Accelerator Account (IAA) project.
"...I completed my degree in my forties whilst working full time and bringing up 3 children. As soon as I retired I completed my Master’s degree, and am now beginning the second year of my PhD research. So my message is, you are definitely never too old!"
Returning from 30 May to 12 June 2026 the Festival will explore the theme: 'Place and Space'.
Join the Research Culture team for a wide range of different developmental workshops across October.
From 1 October 2025, all PGRs should request short periods of leave from their programme via e:Vision.
