Event details

Join scientists to learn where stem cells come from, how we get them and how they might be used for the treatment of joint diseases. Sort stem cells out from non-stem cells, then administer them to our superheroes' joints! Find out about research at the Genever Lab in the University of York’s Department of Biology into mesenchymal stem cells - stem cells present in adults that can give rise to bone, cartilage, and fat – and learn how they might be used for future treatments.

Meet the Researchers: Alasdair Kay, Andrew Stone, David Kuntin, Savvas Ioannou
