Event details

Get hands on playing with the magnets that fill our everyday life, often without us even knowing it! As our world contains an ever increasing amount of data, find out why magnets are key to storage. Researchers from the University of York’s Department of Physics explore how this is done, using demonstrations with some magnetic everyday objects that might just surprise you. Join us and find out what the future may look like – and why it’s not as different from the past as you might expect.
