Welcome, or welcome back, to the University of York. The IT support team are here to help you with any IT related questions or problems during your time at the University.

September arrivals weekend 

IT Help Points will be available in LFA/238F in the Harry Fairhurst Building (Campus West) and the Ron Cooke Hub (Campus East) on: 

  • Sunday 20 September, 12-6pm 
  • Sunday 27 September, 12-6pm 

Our team will be on hand to answer any IT questions and help you to connect your devices to the University network.

Ongoing support 

There are lots of how-to-guides and help articles available on the IT Services webpage

If you still need help, complete our contact form and a member of the team will be in touch. 

We will also be offering walk-in IT support in LFA/238F in the Harry Fairhurst Building (Campus West) every day between Monday 21 September and Monday 28 September, from 10am to 4pm.
From Monday 5 October, IT Support will resume normal hours: 
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 10am to 12pm, and 2pm to 4pm
  • Tuesdays - 10am to 12pm

If there is ever a problem with IT services we want to let you know that things aren’t running as expected. Visit the IT status page for information on any disruption to services or planned maintenance.

Out of hours support 

The IT support team are available Monday to Friday, 9am to 12pm, and 2pm to 4pm. Any questions submitted to the contact form sent outside this will be picked up within working hours.

If you think your machine has been hacked or other activity of concern is taking place, contact the York Computer Emergency Response Team.
