Launch of new Waste and Resource Use Network

The network was launched during a recent event which focused on waste research across the University.

The Network, which will be led by Dr James Chong from the Department of Biology, is a cross-campus initiative to bring together researchers with interests in all aspects of waste research from across the University. It aims to establish a network of active researchers from a broad range of disciplines to build collaborations, develop new research ideas and capitalise on funding opportunities.

There has been a great deal of enthusiasm for the Network already, with around 30 researchers from eight departments already signed up.

The Network’s inaugural meeting will be held on the 5th April. During the session the attendees will discuss potential areas for research using the broad range of expertise in waste at York, and we hope to have a guest speaker who will highlight waste issues and their mitigation in the Aida refugee camp in the West Bank.

If you are a researcher at the University of York, whether PhD student or Professor, and would like to register to be a member of the network please contact us at yesi@york.ac.uk.
