Support for disabled students

News

Posted on Thursday 18 September 2025

If you have a disability, learning difficulty, mental health difficulty or a long-term health condition, you may be eligible for academic support and adjustments.

To access Disability Services, you need to complete our registration form and provide supporting information.

If you have already registered or completed our registration form, you do not need to fill it in again - we'll get back to you as soon as we can during this busy start to semester.

Disability advice drop-ins

If you would like to find out more about the support that might be available to you, please come along to one of our drop-in sessions in the Library foyer:

During Welcome Week and Teaching Week 1, we'll be available:

Monday: 10 - 11.30am
Tuesday: 10 - 11.30am
Wednesday: 2 - 3.30pm
Thursday:  12 noon - 1.30pm
Friday: 2 - 3.30pm

From Week 2 to Week 11 (including Consolidation Week), drop-ins will take place every week in the Sally Baldwin Buildings, Block D at the following days and times:

Tuesday: 11am to 12 noon
Wednesday: 2pm to 3pm
Thursday: 12 noon to 1pm

Please note that drop-ins are not an alternative to a meeting with your advisor. You should contact Disability Services directly if you need to discuss something more in-depth, for example:

  • I need to talk about my student support plan
  • My requirements have changed
  • My adjustments are not working and need to be reviewed

Individual exam arrangements for disabled students

If you require individual exam arrangements, you must complete a registration form and provided Disability Services with appropriate evidence by Friday 24 October for the January 2026 assessment period.
