Volunteers wanted: prehistoric wellbeing activities
Could activities from the past help our wellbeing today? Get outdoors, help researchers and take a well deserved wellbeing break this exam season!
The York Experimental Archaeology Research Centre (YEAR) are looking for volunteers to take part in the CraftWell project, which aims to find out how archaeology-based crafts might benefit health and wellbeing.
Interested participants will be asked to take part in either a pottery making or bead making workshop, exploring and learning ancient techniques that archaeologists believe people used 11,000 years ago or in the 5-6th century CE respectively.
The workshops will take place on Wednesdays at 2-4pm. Current available dates include:
- Wednesday 31 May (bead making)
- Wednesday 7 June (pottery)
