Apply for the York Award

Come along to the York Award (Graduating 2017) workshop on Tuesday 15 November to find out more about how to apply.

The York Award is highly valued by graduate employers and is an employability certificate awarded to successful applicants alongside your degree.

The application form is now available to download for those graduating in 2017, and Careers are offering workshops on how to apply. The next workshop is Tuesday 15 November, 12-1pm, PT/007.

Gaining the York Award demonstrates to employers that you have taken a proactive approach to your time at University and acquired a range of skills and experiences beyond your academic studies.

The York Award provides accreditation for:

 

  • Work experience: including internships, paid part-time or vacation work and work shadowing
  • Volunteering: get involved giving something back to the local community
  • Personal interests: the extra-curricular clubs and societies that you are participating in
  • Skills training: a range of skills courses which are often run by employers
