Practical Management Fundamentals Workshops

News

Posted on Friday 26 June 2026

Due to the outstanding demand for the Management Fundamentals workshops, we are excited to offer more dates for Semester 1.

Designed for line managers looking to build confidence and capability, these sessions provide the skills needed to manage essential performance, conduct and attendance issues effectively and legally. These workshops move beyond theory, focusing on real-world scenarios and actionable tools you can use immediately.

Workshop focus and key takeaways

The three workshops on offer in 2026 are:

  • Improving Performance and Conduct: Demystify the process of managing performance. You will gain clarity on how to effectively manage performance and conduct and learn practical steps for improvement.
  • Managing Sickness Absence and Understanding Reasonable Adjustments: Minimise disruption, confidently meet your legal obligations and ensure supportive management for all colleagues.
  • Managing Conflict and Grievances: Transform workplace tension into resolution and foster a positive work environment.

Who is this programme for?

The Management Fundamentals workshops are an essential investment for all line managers (from Supervisors to Heads of Departments) who are responsible for performance, well being, and the professional conduct of their teams.

Note - if you have attended POD's Management Foundations Programme, these workshops follow on from this programme as you'll take the foundational skills you've learned and apply them directly to everyday people management challenges.

Delivery of the workshops

All workshops are in-person, three-hour sessions, providing an immersive and collaborative learning environment.
