Setting the legal tone

Our research is interested in how we protect the voice in an age of AI cloning.

In this project we ask:

  • What are the characteristics of personality in voice and can they be protected?
  • How do the public understand the ways AI is portrayed sonically through voice?
  • Can a framework concerning the rights and responsibilities of voice personality be developed?
  • Do we trust AI voices and why?
  • What does the public think about AI voice cloning?
