Call for nurses to return to practice in North Yorkshire

News

Posted on Monday 21 July 2014

A six-month programme starting this summer at the University of York is designed to encourage former nurses in North Yorkshire to return to the profession.

Clare Clarke, Programme Leader, from York’s Department of Health Sciences, said: “The programme provides returners with a flexible approach to fit in with their family life and individual circumstances. The course starts with a five-day study workshop and then involves attending one seminar per month.”

Additionally, students are expected to complete 200 hours clinical practice in an allocated practice setting over a period of six months.  Returners will be able to develop their competence and achieve the skills and knowledge to regain their registration and return to work as a registered nurse.

Successful applicants will have their course fees paid in full by the NHS via Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber.

For further information on the Return to Practice programme email dohs-ssprd@york.ac.uk or telephone Sue Chapman on 01904 321620 or visit www.york.ac.uk/healthsciences/ssprd/modules-courses/return-nursing
