A new curator talk with Jennifer Alexander, Senior Curator of York Art Gallery, will take place at the University of York’s Norman Rea Gallery on 3 November.

Speaking about her role as a Senior Curator, she will share valuable insights about working in the art world and all that an arts career entails.

The evening will be a unique opportunity for anyone considering a career in heritage or curatorship, or those curious as to what happens behind the scenes. Sharing the latest volunteering opportunities available at York Museums Trust, a Q&A with Jennifer Alexander and free drinks reception will follow her talk.

Chloe Tucker, Vice-Director of the Norman Rea Gallery and undergraduate in English Literature and History of Art, said: "We are thrilled to have our second speaker for the Curator Talk series be the Senior Curator at York Art Gallery. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about the gallery, its opening next year and available volunteering roles."

The Norman Rea Gallery is run entirely by students at the University of York. Situated above The Courtyard in Derwent College, the gallery hosts exhibitions throughout the year and promotes the work of both student and professional artists. The gallery hosts three exhibitions a term with lectures, seminars and events.
