York Law School's very own Dr Joanna Gilmore and Dr Mattia Pinto received extensive coverage on national news of the launch of their 'Trew's Law' report on police criminality and wrongful convictions last week.

The Guardian and Channel 4 both covered the launch of Dr Joanna Gilmore and Dr Mattia Pinto's 'Trew's Law' report on police criminality and wrongful convictions, which they co-authored with Mya Imadojemun (Racial Justice Researcher, APPEAL) who was seconded to YLS thanks to an ESRC-IAA award.

The report was launched at a packed event at Lambeth Town Hall, alongside an animation which they developed with Nifty Fox; Dr Alice Welsh was instrumental in helping to secure the funding for this creative output. The animation featured heavily on the Channel 4 News report.

It is extraordianary to see such high quality research translating into such wide-reaching public discourse; an incredible achievement, and a real testament to the value of co-production and work with non-academic specialists.
