Welcome to York Law School

York Law School is an inspirational place for study and research, with a distinctive approach to legal education and scholarship and a focus on social-engaged work across our activity. Our faculty brings together scholars at the forefront of research into issues of pressing current importance, and those with years of experience in the professional practice of law. Our innovative problem-based approach to teaching creates a modern, intellectually stimulating learning environment that gives students a real awareness of the many social roles law plays, and is relevant to the legal profession and beyond. Our research builds on a rich tradition of strong, impactful interdisciplinary work, drawing on legal ideas, methods, and frameworks to frame and reshape agendas on key social challenges. Our work is marked by a strong sense of intellectual community and a commitment to nurturing and developing outstanding legal minds.
