Subscribing to our mailing list

When registering to join the mailing list you will be asked to provide your name, email address and department/organisation. 

The information provided will be used by the Closing the Gap Network, University of York, to send you a regular newsletter about upcoming events and workshops, funding and job opportunities, news, publications, and other relevant information. We will also send a regular newsletter with updates about CTG research and news. Occasionally we may also send you CTG event invitations, seasonal messages, or other one-off items of information relevant to the CTG Network.

The information will be collected via an embedded Mailjet form on our website. Please note that Mailjet is a third-party service that is not owned or managed by the Closing the Gap Network or the University of York. You should review Mailjet’s privacy policy as we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies.

You are free to change your mind at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email you receive from us, or by contacting us directly at ctg-network@york.ac.uk.

Your data will not be shared or used for any additional purpose. Your data is always held securely. Access to subscriber information is strictly controlled and the Mailjet account can only be accessed by people who require access and have a reason to access the information. We may download the mailing list occasionally to learn about our audience. This will be stored within the University of York, Department of Health Sciences Drive which is only accessible to those who need the information.

Registering to attend one of our events

When registering to join one of our events you will be asked to provide your name, email address and any other key contact information. 

The information provided will be used by the Closing the Gap Network to coordinate the event or events to which you have registered. We may contact you with relevant information or updates about the event(s) or if we need to clarify details from you.

The information will be collected via Google forms. Please note that Google is a third-party service that is not owned or managed by Closing the Gap Network or the University of York. You should review Google's privacy policy as we do not accept responsibility or liability for their policies. 

You are free to change your mind and withdraw your details at any time by contacting us directly at ctg-network@york.ac.uk.

Your data will not be shared or used for any additional purpose. Access to registered attendee's information is strictly controlled and the Google form can only be accessed by people who require access and have a reason to access the information. We may download the subscriber list to learn about our audience or to aid coordination of an event/events. This will be stored within the University of York, Department of Health Sciences Drive which is only accessible to those who need the information.

Joining our Special Interest Groups

This privacy notice is for any individual who has been invited by Closing the Gap Network, University of York to join one or more of our Basecamp special interest groups.

For the purposes of this privacy notice, University of York is the Data Controller as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and our entry can be found here. Our registration number is: Z4855807.

If you accept the invitation you will be asked to provide you name and email address which will be used by Basecamp to identify you and for messages to be sent to you via Basecamp. Information about you will be collected via the Basecamp platform. Please note that Basecamp is a third-party service that is not owned or managed by the Closing the Gap Network or the University of York. Please review the Basecamp Privacy Policy.

You are free to change your mind at any time to cancel your account in the Basecamp platform and request Basecamp to remove your information.

Your data will not be shared or used for any additional purpose. Basecamp operates on an opt-in basis, the purpose of the special interest groups is to share information within the group such as up and coming events, meetings, papers published etc, therefore other special interest group members will be able to see the information you post. We request that Basecamp users do not post personal contact details to the special interest groups, if you wish to share personal contacts details please share these by another means. Our data is always held securely. Access to subscriber information is strictly controlled.
