At York, researchers collaborate across the University's seven interdisciplinary research themes to address the great scientific, social and environmental challenges of our times.

Our department has particularly strong partnerships within three themes: Environmental Sustainability and Resilience, Health and Wellbeing and Justice and Equality.

Environmental Sustainability and Resilience

We combine expertise in multiple disciplines to understand earth and ecosystem processes and assess how they are affected by human interactions. We develop innovative solutions to environmental challenges at local, regional and global scales.
