The initial round of visits will take place before 1 August 2024. Applications for the initial round have now closed. We will announce a further call for the period from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025 later this year.
We will select applicants based on the intended benefits to the visitor and host, feasibility and overall fit with consideration to equality, diversity and inclusion. We will aim to pair visiting researchers with York based researchers who they will ‘shadow’, and train with support from our technical team. The visiting researcher will be expected to give a short informal presentation during their stay outlining their research interests to foster further collaborations. To facilitate further collaboration the visitor will obtain ‘visiting researcher’ status for one year enabling access to our on-line resources.
The scheme is funded by Research England “Enhancing Research Culture Funding 2023-24”.
- Return travel to/from York
- Accommodation for 14 nights
- Subsistence allowance
- Contribution to visa costs
- Full bench fees
Applicants will be primarily based at a research institution in the Global South or in a country listed as an ODA recipient.
Applicants will be employed on a research contract or, for doctoral students, engaged in full-time study.
