Asbestos surveys

To assist in the management of asbestos, Estates Services undertakes regular surveys and inspections of asbestos containing materials. These surveys are split into two categories:

1. Management surveys. The purpose of this type of survey is to provide information on the location and condition of asbestos for the day to day management of University buildings.
2. Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys. The purpose of this type of survey is to provide information on the location of asbestos prior to any refurbishment work commences.

Survey information is stored in a management database.
