Higher Education Scholarships for Palestinians (HESPAL)
The University of York is proud to be a part of the HESPAL Scholarship Scheme – a programme led by the British Council in partnership with UK universities, offering Masters scholarships to Palestinian academic staff to pursue their studies at UK universities .
HESPAL is dedicated to supporting young Palestinian academics with the aim to support the Palestinian higher education sector by building the capacity of its academic staff and addressing its needs and priorities.
They are offering one fully funded scholarship (including tuition fees and living expenses) to study a Masters programme at the University of York.

Eligibility
Open to students from Gaza only.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a resident of the Gaza Strip
- Be currently employed by one of the Palestinian partners universities
- Be nominated by your employer Palestinian university
- Have a written commitment to return to work for your Palestinian university after the completion of your studies, for a duration agreed upon with your university
- Have a valid English language IELTS certificate with an appropriate grade for your selected course of study – other certified English exams might be accepted
