Appointments will be held in the Maths Skills Centre on the first floor of the Harry Fairhurst Building. As appointment slots are limited please do not book consecutive appointments unless you have spoken with a tutor first. The Maths Skills Centre focuses on independent learning, and we hope to provide you with the skills and resources to solve future mathematics and statistics problems without assistance.
Before booking please read the appointment policy and details below.
Please note: whilst we are happy to help with general topics, themes and how to approach new mathematical and statistics problems and projects, we can not help answer specific assessed questions.
If you have booked an appointment, please make every effort to attend. Resources are limited so please be considerate of your fellow students and tutors. If you can not attend, notify us in advance following the cancellation procedure below.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, visit the Appointment Booking System and cancel your appointment.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are unable to find a suitable appointment time with full details of your query.
Distance learners can book 60-minute online appointments via Skype or Google Hangout for advice and guidance with mathematics and statistics topics.
In the first instance, please email the Centre - email@example.com with details of your specific requirement together with availability during the coming week for an online appointment.
This service is for students who are based away from the campus for their learning or who have difficulties in visiting the campus e.g., access issues, working on placements or a fully online learner. If you are based in York and have regular access to the campus, come and see us in person.
