Get involved and be a key student voice in developing University initiatives and strategies.

The Student Expert Panel ensures that diverse student experiences, needs and perspectives are represented in everything that the University does. The Panel has a particular focus on matters relating to EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) and ensuring equality of opportunity for underrepresented student groups. It is a critical source of advice and challenge for the University across all areas of student life.

We are now looking to recruit new members.

What's involved?

The Panel’s activities are generally split into two important functions: consultation and project work.

  • Consultation involves Panel members supporting staff from across the University by informing the design of their initiatives and decisions. You will do this by sharing valuable insight, feedback and your own lived experiences of the University and beyond.
  • As a Panel member, you will also have the opportunity to co-create your own priorities and project work, collaborating with University and Students' Union staff, as well as other students and student groups.

What's the role?

Students are paid at £13.84 per hour for about 4 hours per month during semester time. Most meetings and consultations happen between 2pm to 4pm on alternate Wednesdays.

Application deadline: 1pm on Monday 10 November 2025
