Giving Day 2025

News

Posted on Tuesday 4 November 2025

Join hundreds of students, staff and alumni on York Giving Day (5 - 6 November) and help make a difference across our university community.

What is York Giving Day?

York Giving Day is our annual celebration of giving, bringing together the whole University community to support causes that help students thrive. The four funds you can support on Giving Day cover four key areas: removing barriers to opportunity, supporting academics and students displaced by conflict, widening access to science careers and improving mental health. Every gift, no matter the size, adds up to make a big impact.

How to get involved

When: 9am Wednesday 5 November - 9pm Thursday 6 November 2025
Where: Online

You can take part by:

  • Making a donation online at york.ac.uk/givingday
  • Spreading the word on social media using #YorkGivingDay

Why your support matters

Last year, York Giving Day raised over £300,000 for projects that make York a place where everyone can belong and succeed. This year, we’re aiming even higher and we need your help to get there.

We’ve been set a challenge to try and unlock a total of 50 student donations during York Giving Day 2025. If we reach this milestone, a generous donor has pledged to donate an extra £3,500 to Giving Day.

Whether you make a donation or give up your time by helping us spread the word, you’ll be part of something that shapes the York experience for students now and in the future.
