Parking charges resuming

Posted on 2 August 2021

Do you park on campus regularly? If you do then please be aware, as of 1 September 2021 parking charges will resume. In order to continue to park your vehicle on campus, you will need to have a current parking permit. Most permits expired in March 2021 and will now not be valid.

Here’s how to apply / renew your permit

Log into the online parking permit system using the email address and password you used when you first created an account. Please note, this may not be your University of York log in details.

Select Permit application and complete the form, ensuring your information is up to date. You will receive an email notification to inform you whether your permit application has been approved or declined. If approved there will be nothing further to do and your permit will then be valid from 1 September 2021. If declined the parking permit team will contact you separately.

I don’t want to renew

If you do not wish to renew your permit, you do not need to take any further action.

I’m not sure which permit I will need

We would advise you to take a look through all of the different parking permits, as new flexible options have been introduced, and think about how often you will be parking on campus. It is up to you to decide which permit will suit your circumstances moving forward. To help with this, on the parking permit web page, we have highlighted  some different scenarios and how to calculate the cost of one permit against another.

If any of your team do not have online or email access they can visit the Information Centre for further assistance with their renewal or call 01904 322057.
