Mandatory training for associate staff

At the University of York, all associate and casual staff are required to complete the online statutory and compliance training listed on this page. These each take approximately 30 minutes to complete:

• Introduction to Fire Safety 
• Data Protection (GDPR) training package 
• Digital Accessibility 
• Disability Awareness 
• Prevent duty training
• Information Security Awareness training package

Equality and diversity

Duration: One hour

• Introduction to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - Module 1
• Introduction to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - Module 2

Unconscious bias

Duration: 30 minutes

• Unconscious Bias
• Quiz 1: Introduction to unconscious bias
• Quiz 2: Unconscious bias in staff recruitment
• Quiz 3: Unconscious bias in staff progression and retention
• Quiz 4: Unconscious bias in student recruitment, progression and retention 

Preventing sexual harassment and misconduct

Duration: 45 minutes

While this training is mandatory, some individuals may feel unable to engage with the topic of sexual misconduct and harassment. Please be aware that in these circumstances you are able to opt out of this e-learning in confidence, with no questions asked.

Training record

Where modules have a feedback/completion form/quiz at the end of the training, you must complete this section otherwise your training completion will not be recorded and you may be asked to complete the module again.
