Pre-16
We offer a range of activities that aim to inform and delight young people about the possibilities of higher education. They're designed to enrich their curriculum and promote the idea that a university education is an exciting and achievable prospect.
We work closely with targeted schools and colleges across the region to deliver these hands-on projects.

Roots to Success
A collaboration between the University of York, York St John University, York College and Askham Bryan College. We work with our partner schools to provide pupils in Years 6 to 11 with an experience of higher education.

Shine
A programme working in partnership with 29 secondary schools across Yorkshire, the Humber, East Lincolnshire and the North East. Shine supports pupils from Year 7 to Year 11, who come from backgrounds currently underrepresented in higher education.

York Students in Schools
A volunteering opportunity for University of York students to connect with local schools. Students will support teaching and learning through a variety of potential classroom positions. Opportunities range from nursery to college level.
