"UN FAO estimates 60% more food will be demanded by 2050, this is at a time when leading experts suggest our food system is increasingly vulnerable. Climate change, geopolitical unrest, reductions in soil health and water supply, a lack of biodiversity and the disconnect between producers and consumers are adding to this vulnerability.
New thinking and collaboration is urgently required AgriFood at York aims to contribute solutions to this global challenge."
- Professor Bob Doherty, Academic Lead for AgriFood at York.
