Isaac Physics: Year 10 Programme

Are you a year 10 girl who enjoys Science and Maths?  Then join us for an exciting programme, offerered by the University of York and Isaac Physics.  

  • Find out more about what it’s like to study Physics beyond GCSE
  • Try regular questions to help with your studies
  • Meet other like-minded girls who share your love of Science
  • Get hands-on with experimental work

This one-year programme includes a mixture of online problem solving, evening workshops, full-day taster visits to the University of York and a one-night residential to try out student life. 

It’s completely free and travel bursaries are available.  

There are a maximum of 24 places on this programme and although we would encourage all year 10 girls to apply, preference will be given to students who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Receives/is entitled to free school meals
  • Lives or has previously lived in Local Authority Care
  • Lives in a low participation area? (verified using the university's postcode checker
  • Parent(s)/carer(s) did not attend University
  • Is a recognised young carer
  • Is from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background.
  • Has a disability or long term health condition.

Applications are now open.  All applications must be submitted by 9am on Friday 12th October 2018.

Please note that in applying for this programme, you commit to attending all workshops, as detailed above, and to completing fortnightly questions set through the Isaac Physics website (taking a maximum of 1 hour per fortnight).
