York is one of only four UK universities that have achieved a top 10 position in the Times Higher Education rankings of the Research Excellence Framework and an overall Gold in the Teaching Exercise Framework

Commenting on The Times & Sunday Times ranking, Vice-Chancellor Professor Charlie Jeffery said: “As we start the new academic year, this positive news highlights the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our staff.

“Their unwavering commitment to providing gold-standard teaching in addition to carrying out world-leading research gives our highly-talented and diverse community of students the knowledge and opportunities to grow and succeed.

“My thanks go to all our staff as we welcome new and returning students for the start of the new semester. I look forward to celebrating the achievements of our community over the coming year. I have no doubt they will continue to inspire us and make a positive impact locally, nationally, and globally.”
