The University of York’s Department of Electronic Engineering has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen (HITSZ), China, to establish a joint laboratory for wireless communications.

The new lab will focus on wireless technology

The laboratory aims to enhance academic exchanges, share knowledge around student training, and increase research cooperation between York and HITSZ.

Professor Alister Burr, from the Department of Electronic Engineering, who will be a Co-Director for the laboratory, said: "This new joint laboratory builds upon and strengthens our long-standing collaboration with Professor Fuchun Zheng at HITSZ

“It gives us access to a very dynamic region of China, which is of particular importance in wireless communication technology, at a vital time when a whole new range of wireless applications are emerging.

“We are proud to be associated with HITSZ, one of the leading Chinese universities and look forward to fruitful research cooperation.”
