Training and Mentoring

Training

The Department of Mathematics aims to ensure that all members of staff are aware of equality and diversity issues. Members of staff are encouraged to complete Equality and Diversity training and Unconscious Bias Awareness training.

Online equality and diversity training for staff includes:

• Equality & Diversity Training (for all staff)
• Unconscious Bias Awareness (for all staff)
• Creating Accessible Documents (for all staff)
• Autism Training
• Unconscious Bias Awareness in Recruitment and Selection (for members of recruitment panels)

Mentoring

All new members of staff to the Department of Mathematics are allocated a mentor. A mentor's aim is to support staff during their time at York. 

The University’s Careers Service offers mentoring for current students. staff and alumni through the York Profiles and Mentors hub. Here you can search for graduates in specific career sectors and ask them for advice and the possibility of mentoring.
