Book your place

I visited lots of university open days, but when I went to York, I immediately fell in love with the gorgeous city, campus and facilities.

When will booking open for the events?

Booking is now open for our June Open Days. You can sign up for undergraduate event updates to be the first to hear when our September dates are announced, and when booking opens for them.

When will the Open Day start and finish?

The event will run from 9.15am to 4pm.

How many guests can I bring with me to the event?

You're welcome to bring up to two guests with you to our Open Days.

I have an offer to start in September 2026; can I visit?

Our upcoming Open Days will cover information suitable for Year 12 applicants considering applying to start university in September 2027. If you have not been able to attend a visit day for offer holders, you can visit campus independently at any time.

We recommend downloading our app, Visit UoY, which allows you to take an outdoor, self-guided tour of our campus, narrated by our current students.

Details of how to travel to campus can be found on our transport and parking page.

Will I need to book for individual talks and sessions?

You won't need to book a place at individual sessions and talks. Once you've booked a place on an Open Day, you will have access to all the talks and sessions taking place at that event. Some talks may be busy, in which case priority will be given to students before guests.

Can I visit campus at another time if I can't make it to the Open Days?

You're welcome to visit our campus at any time that suits you. Our app, Visit UoY, will allow you to take an outdoor, self-guided tour of our campus, narrated by our current students.

Details of how to travel to campus can be found on our transport and parking page.

How do I get to campus?

You will receive details of our event specific Park and Ride and train station shuttles via email prior to the event. Please note that there will be no parking available on campus, except for Blue Badge parking.

When will the programme for the event be released?

Everyone who has booked a place will receive the programme by email a couple of weeks before the event. There will also be physical copies available to pick up at the event

How do I change my booking to a different date?

If you would like to change your booking to the alternate date, please email us at openday@york.ac.uk and quote the reference number stated in your confirmation email.

This will allow us to cancel your current booking. You will then need to complete another booking form, selecting your preferred date.

Please note: we can only make changes to an existing booking when contacted by the person who made the original booking.

How do I change the subjects I have booked for?

If you would like to change the subjects you have booked your Open Day for, please email us at openday@york.ac.uk and quote the reference number stated in your confirmation email.

Please note: we can only make changes to an existing booking when contacted by the person who made the original booking.
