About the software

Mathematica is a computational software program used in scientific, engineering, and mathematical fields and other areas of technical computing.

Version

Mathematica version 11.3 is installed on all managed IT Services PCs and is available to staff for unmanaged machines and home use; see the Obtaining the software tab.

Obtaining the software

Students

Classrooms

Mathematica is installed on all IT Services classroom PCs.

Home use

Mathematica is not available for students to purchase from the Library & IT Help Desk.

Staff

Managed PCs

To install Mathematica on office PCs managed by IT Services, follow these steps:

  1. From the Start Menu search for and open Software Center
  2. Locate the software under the Available Softwaretab
    • Note: it is listed as Wolfram Mathematica
  3. Click on the Install button in the lower right

Unmanaged machines and home use

For unmanaged machines, you can download this software from the following location:

You will also need to connect with the Network licence as detailed on the Mathematica licence page.

To apply for a home use licence, please follow the instructions on the Mathematica licence page.
