About LabVIEW

About the software

LabVIEW is a systems engineering software for applications that require test, measurement, and control.

The LabVIEW licence is a Teaching and Research Academic Licence and is only available for use by academic staff, researchers and students in the Faculty of Sciences.

Version

LabVIEW is licensed for use by staff and students in the following departments:

  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Environment
  • Health Sciences
  • Hull York Medical School
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Psychology

Obtaining the software

Classrooms and managed office PCs

LabVIEW is available to install from Software Center on Electronics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Office PCs and on physics laptops. LabVIEW is installed on all Physics classroom PCs.

Unmanaged machines and home use

To download and activate Labview on an unmanaged or personally owned device you will need a National Instruments account created using your York email address.
