New Zoom features: AI Companion
News
Posted on Friday 9 January 2026
From Monday 2 February new AI Companion features in Zoom will be available for staff and students, making meetings even easier.
What’s new?
- AI Companion panel
Use the AI Companion Panel to ask questions and receive tailored responses about your meetings, team chat, calendar and contacts. - Meeting Summary
Create a written summary of your meeting, allowing you to focus on the conversation rather than taking notes. The summary will be broken down into the main discussion points and action items. You can edit the summary after the meeting, and use different templates to pre-format them the way you’d like. - In-meeting questions
Get a summary or ask specific questions while the meeting happens. If you join a meeting late, or need to step away, you can use the questions feature to stay up to date with what’s been discussed. - Smart recording
Cloud recordings can be automatically organised into chapters with highlights, which can be shared and seen by others. Great for those who need to quickly review lengthy meetings or training sessions as it makes key content easily discoverable.
Not all features and settings will be enabled by default. You can make changes to your preferences and settings in the Zoom Web portal.
