Join us for a free, in-person event on current issues relating to mental health and sentencing.

The event will be led by the Sentencing Academy in conjunction with the University of York and will feature three expert speakers.

Programme

'Overview of mental health and sentencing'-Dr Ailbhe O'Loughlin, Senior Lecturer in Law, York Law School, University of York

'Pre-sentence reports and the role of the Probation Service in court'-Sandra Drysdale, Senior Probation Officer, North East Probation Service

'Sentencing people with a learning disability and autistic people: A perspective from psychiatry'-Dr Christopher Ince, Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disabilities (Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Trust) and National Specialty Advisor – Autism (NHS England)

The event will be chaired by Professor Adam Crawford, Professor of Policing and Social Justice, York Law School, University of York.
