The Mark Stevens Scholarship

The Mark Stevens Scholarship was established in memory of Mark Stevens to provide support to talented students who have the academic potential to study at York, participate in student life at Goodricke College and who have overcome significant barriers to their educational goals.

  • Funding: £5,000, paid in annual instalments of £1,666, for three years in total.

History BA Undergraduate Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Department of History is delighted to announce the History BA Undergraduate Scholarship, awarded each year to a student commencing their undergraduate studies in the Department of History who best meets the eligibility criteria.

  • Funding: £3,000, paid in annual instalments of £1,000, for three years in total.

History BA Undergraduate Scholarship

Care Leavers and Estranged Students Bursary

This bursary is for students aged under 25, who come to York as care leavers or who are irreconcilably estranged from their parents.

York Refugee Bursary

The Refugee Bursary is a non-repayable award for students who come to York and have a Refugee immigration status.

Depending on your household residual income you could be eligible for our non-repayable York bursary.

York Enigma Scholarship

The York Enigma Scholarships have been established with the generous support of York alumni and entrepreneur Max Noble to support talented undergraduate students at York.

  • Funding: £3,300, paid over three years

Holbeck scholarships

These scholarships are open to pupils from schools and colleges in the Yorkshire and Humber region, who are applying to any UK university (not just York) for entry in September 2022.

The York Opportunity Scholarships have been established to provide support to talented students who have the academic potential to study at York.

For EU and international students

Equal Access Scholarships for undergraduates

We're pleased to offer two Equal Access Scholarships for undergraduate students who are seeking refuge in the UK. Please note that you must have applied to the University of York before submitting an application for this scholarship.

  • Funding: £12,300 living costs plus a full fee waiver
  • Academic year: 2022/23
  • Application deadline: Thursday 31 March 2022, 11.59pm BST
  • Open to: Students from International (non- EU) residing and seeking sanctuary in the UK. Please see eligibility criteria for further information.
  • Number available: 2

Be Exceptional scholarships

We award many international scholarships per year, recognising achievement by applying a tuition fee discount.

  • Funding: £2,500 to £7,500

Vice-Chancellor's scholarships
