Award for PhD student Bogdan Cornea

Congratulations to Bogdan Cornea who has been awarded an HRC Doctoral Fellowship

‌Bogdan was nominated by the Department to take part in the HRC doctoral fellowships finals 2014 which were held on 7th July. He was awarded an HRC Doctoral Fellowship and a prize of £400 in acknowledgement of his research.

"The panel members were all fascinated by the sort of attention to the qualities of the paint and brush work, and to the conspicuous presence of the canvas in some cases, that Bogdan invited us to give and it was a stimulating pleasure to find new depths (and new surfaces) in these paintings in his expert company."
