Arts and Humanities at York ranks 54th in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject, 2025
We have been ranked 54th in the world and 11th in the UK for the study of Arts and Humanities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by subject. The ranking recognises the quality of our courses, and the experiences and opportunities they provide to our students.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Duncan Petrie said:

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject are published annually to help students choose a university course. It ranks universities by subject area in metrics including teaching, research environment, research quality, industry and international outlook.

York has been ranked in the top 150 for seven subjects in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2025.
