Subject taster events 2020/21

During 2020/21, our Access and Outreach programmes will be delivered virtually with some face-to-face events. We will be guided by government guidelines and University policy. We will work directly with programme participants and our school and college partners to keep you informed of progress.

Online activities

To support you in this uncertain time we are working to develop a range of alternative online resources. These will be designed to give students a taste of higher education learning and help them prepare for university. Stay tuned to the schools and colleges webpages for the latest announcements.

Introduction to Higher Education Pre-16 Hub

Want to find out more about higher education? You’re in the right place

An online programme for Year 7 to 11 pupils to explore their aspirations and support their journey towards higher education. Every Tuesday the Pre-16 Hub will be updated with new student blogs and articles as well as interactive tasks. You’ll be able to ask questions, share your thoughts and be in with the chance of winning some fantastic prizes.

Science at home 

Support for scientific learning at home to keep the kids (and the rest of the family) entertained. 

Subscribe to our weekly newsletter packed with high quality learning resources including websites, apps, videos and ideas for hands-on activities for ages 6-18 and beyond. Brought to you by the Physics Outreach team in collaboration with the Departments of Chemistry and Biology, these resources have been selected to keep children interested and learning about science.

Free online short courses

A short, interactive higher education experience designed by our academics. 

From archaeology to psychology, art history to engineering, our online short courses take place over three to four weeks and are open to everyone, regardless of background or location. Watch online videos, explore case studies and take part in quizzes and discussions with your fellow learners across the world.
