CPD Courses
Our CPD courses take an in-depth look at MFL curriculum design and pedagogy.
Coming up:
Deep Learning & Deep Dives
Developing and describing your languages provision. In this session we consider practical ways to ensure that we and all of our colleagues understand and can describe our department’s language vision and practice; the why, what, when and how of our languages teaching and learning. This is not just for Ofsted (!) – it’s about confidence in the classroom, with parents, governors and any wider community stakeholders, too. We will cover the following key areas: Curriculum, Remembering, SEND, Books (folders etc.), Assessment, Behaviour and Professional Development.
Decolonising and Diversifying the Languages Curriculum From KS2 – KS4
Learning to express yourself in a new language is ideally both identity forming and horizon broadening. This course presents practical ideas, new perspectives and free resources.
Two-part CPD series: Primary MFL Development Programme
This two-part CPD series provides an overview of the key subject and domain specific knowledge teachers and subject leads will need to be able to structure and teach this subject effectively, demonstrating how the aims of the KS2 National Curriculum Programme of Study can be operationalised through a language-led, knowledge-rich and practice-based curriculum.
Three-part series: Gearing up for the new GCSE
Using expert analysis and practical steps to help all language teachers and leaders approach the new GCSE with confidence, this series of three highly interactive sessions brings together MFL practitioners for rich discussion as we prepare for the first teaching of the new GCSE in French, Spanish and German from September 2024.
