Facilities at Langwith

Information on useful facilities and services: Laundry, post, communal areas, food, receptions, travel and accommodation.

Where to go for

Laundry
Langwith College launderette can be found in the Langwith Centre Building ground floor. You’ll need your key card for access.
Maintenance
If there’s an issue with your room that requires cleaning or maintenance, here’s how to let us know, so that it can be fixed sooner.
Reception
Your nearest Reception is located in the Ron Cooke Hub on Campus East. Find opening times and contact details on the reception services page.

Mail

Small post: Correctly addressed post will be delivered to your designated mailbox, situated outside your court/house entrance. Each flat/house has its own mailbox.  

Large post and Parcels are sent to the Piazza Building mailroom. You’ll be contacted if you have a parcel to collect. Don’t forget to bring a form of ID when picking up a parcel.

Communal areas

Our two communal rooms are available for Langwith College members to enjoy. Great for relaxing and socialising, they have comfy seating and a variety of other amenities.

Getting around

Buses
A regular bus route operates from Campus East Interchange - beside the Field Lane car park. This includes a free shuttle to Campus West and a paid service into the city centre.
Cycle parking
A variety of bicycle storage is available across Langwith College grounds; including uncovered hoops for communal use and secure storage sheds with keycard access.

What's near?

  • Food and drink: Your nearest places for a drink or bite to eat are The Glasshouse Bar, The Piazza Building or the Ron Cooke Hub, all within a five minute walk.
  • The York Sports village is just a nine minute walk away and is home to gym facilities and a swimming pool.
  • Kimberlow Hill retail park is a short four minute walk away and is home to a NISA grocery store, doctors surgery and several other food outlets.
