A new era for the School for Business and Society

As a Professor of Social Policy, John Hudson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role, having worked at the University of York since 1998, previously as the Head of the Social Policy section, followed by the Head of Department of Social Policy and Social Work, and then Interim Deputy Dean of the School for Business and Society. More recently, John has served as the Director of the University of York's policy engagement unit, The York Policy Engine.
John Hudson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role, having worked at the University of York since 1998, including serving as Head of Department of Social Policy and Social Work (2017-2022), and then Interim Deputy Dean of the School for Business and Society (2022-2023). More recently, John has served as the inaugural Director of the University of York's policy engagement unit, The York Policy Engine (2023-2025).

Working alongside Professor Hudson are Professor Federica Angeli as Deputy Dean for Strategy and People, and Dr Jeremy Aroles and Dr Helena Pinto, who take on the role of Deputy Dean for Strategy and Culture and Strategy and Planning, respectively.
Dr Helena Pinto said, "I am excited to take on the role of Deputy Dean of Strategy and Planning. This opportunity represents both an honour and a meaningful responsibility, and I look forward to collaborating and working closely with colleagues across the School and the University." Dr Jeremy Aroles, added, "I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Deputy Dean of Strategy and Culture, and I look forward to working alongside colleagues across the School and the wider University."
