SMIF|talk
Event details
Student-Managed Investment Funds are a unique form of experiential learning. There are now hundreds of SMIFs around the world but few opportunities for people involved in different funds to meet, exchange ideas and learn from one another.
Annual events such as the Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium conference in Chicago and SMIF|UK in York, England already provide valuable opportunities to connect, share knowledge and discuss the development of student-managed funds.
SMIF|talk is designed to continue those conversations throughout the academic year. This free online seminar series brings together the international SMIF community to explore a wide range of topics, from investment and fund management to financial education and the practical challenges of running a Student-Managed Investment Fund.
Each session features speakers from across the SMIF community, including investment professionals, academics, representatives of professional bodies, alumni and current student analysts. The aim is to share research, experience and practical ideas in an informal setting, with plenty of opportunity for discussion and questions.
As the official digital companion to SMIF|UK, the Student-Managed Investment Fund conference series established in York in 2022, SMIF|talk provides a regular space to learn from others, exchange ideas and stay connected with the wider SMIF community.
Sessions are normally held at 6.30pm UK time on the first Tuesday of the month during teaching periods, with occasional changes to fit the academic calendar.
