Event details

The School’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee are pleased to invite you to our next EDI Forum. In this SBS EDI Forum, we will focus on Accelerating Action to mark the upcoming International Women’s Day (IWD) on Saturday 8th March.

As the IWD's website mentions, "at the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres".

As such, this EDI Forum provides an ideal space and time for us all to think about gender equality and find out how we [as a School] can reinforce this message and think about what it means to us “Let’s Accelerate Action”.

The event provides a safe space for discussions and reflections on gender equality with staff and students. Joanna’s presentation will be followed by an audience activity on how they perceive the message and then Q&A.

Please kindly note that we will be taking some photos at the event, for marketing purposes. Please let Fabien Baugard know should you not wish to be included, either via email or at the event itself. Further information about the University’s processes for capturing photography and video can be found here.
