Professor Joost Boormans is a urologist at the Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He was appointed a consultant urologist in 2012. His area of interest is the diagnosis and treatment of urothelial and testicular cancer patients. He initiated a multidisciplinary outpatient department for patients with advanced bladder cancer on whom he performs radical cystectomy (both open and robot-assisted). He is involved in translational research and clinical trials in both non-muscle invasive and muscle invasive bladder cancer, and he is PI of two multicenter studies and one European consortium. On January 1st 2021 he was appointed Head of the Department of Urology.
