The CfAA is proud to be a co-applicant of this new centre of excellence, where we will be focusing on the safety assurance of clinical AI and providing regulators with much needed support and guidance in this fast moving sector.

Research Director, Professor Ibrahim Habli, who is part of the executive group behind CERSI-AI said of the successful bid: "This award is important because it addresses a key need in this space - that of regulatory science and the need for experts to work more directly with regulators in order to support a pro-innovation approach, but to do so safety and ethically.

“One of the key focuses of CERSI-AI is cross-domain collaboration and whilst the CfAA has a large focus on healthcare, our work in other domains such as maritime and aviation will no doubt be of value. The involvement of the CfAA in CERSI-AI reinforces York as a leader in the field of of safe AI and autonomy”
