New student publications
Articles by a recent MA in Music Education student and a current PhD candidate have recently been published.
Jiangnan Xia, who completed their MA in Music Education course in 2020, has had an enhanced version of their Independent Study Module published in the International Journal on Innovations in Online Education. ‘Exploring the influence of the pivot to online instrumental lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic on Chinese students in a UK university’ focused on five of our MA Music performance students and the transition to online teaching in the pandemic. PhD candidate Phil Boardman has had an article published in Nineteenth-Century Music Review: ’From Extraordinary Success to No Considerable Results: Victorian Music Entrepreneurialism and the Crystal Palace Brass Band Competition 1860–1863’. The article can be read here.
