Success for MA Film Project: Still Life, at the National Student Film Awards!

Still Life (Directed by Mariana Pittnerova), has been deemed a winner of the Official Selection Award for the NAHEMI Student Film Awards 2023.  This is great news as all films in the showcase represent the best student filmmaking in Britain and Ireland of the past academic year. The competition standard was very high this year and Mariana's film has been selected ahead of many others.

Mariana Pittnerova (Director), Felipe Carvajal Sanchez (Sound) and Shreyans Chordia (Cinematography) are immensely proud of their work and delighted that it has been recognised at such a prestigious student film award. As a prize their film will now be included in the NAHEMI showcase of the best student films made by NAHEMI institutions. This showcase will be shown nationally at different festivals and events throughout 2024, and it will also be automatically put forward to compete in the National Student Film Awards which will be voted upon before the end of the year.

The film also came runner up in the Cinematography Award for Shrey's work on the project that helped set the visual tone and aesthetic of the piece to bring the characters and emotions through performance further to life on screen.

NAHEMI recognised that it was a very tough competition this year and therefore a huge congratulations was given to Mariana, Shrey, Felipe and all their cast and crew, as well as our School on this significant achievement.

Congratulations Mariana Pittnerova, Felipe Carvajal Sanchez and Shreyans Chordia!
